Final outcomes

These are my potential siblings I have created using family facial features.

Some will need alterations and they are all edited differently to add to their individual character.

Also some don't work as well as others so I will either recreate them or adjust them at a later date.

Exhibit Displays

This is the AIGA exhibition this appealed to me as it use posters that are attached to the wall and a poster that is being hung while also displaying something like with my Exhibit plan. Although they have more space and prints; I also like the simplicity of the pieces.

Exhibtion

I have managed to find an exhibition display that has a cube with faces on like mine except this one gives visitors the opportunity to look at a photo of a face and then try to reconstruct it from its constituent parts. The faces are both African and European and label text addresses the complications of face recognition across racial lines.

Art Movement

Cubism was a 20th century art movement, that revolutionised European painting and sculpture.

The first phase of cubism, known as Analytic Cubism, a highly significant art movement between 1907 and 1911 in France.

In its second phase, it was known as Synthetic Cubism. The movement spread and remained vital until around 1919, when the Surrealist movement gained popularity.

Cubism is a movement which has inspired Parts of my FMP from the fragmented poster to the type and the cube I have chosen to display my work on. Fragmenting an image allows it to become abstract which also links into my work as I wanted my FMP to show the uncertainty of knowing what your child may look like.

Test Run!!

This is not a final outcome but a mock of what is going to look like.

I am planning on using extracts from the book 'From Harvey River' and images of the island where my family are from to add texture.

I am also going to give my outcomes names Starting with any of the letters G, A, C or T; which make up your genes. The names will be taken from my family Tree e.g Arnold & Tracey.

I created the block using a net I created on photoshop and added the outcome on each side but on the final they will all be different.

I think it works well but I may add more colour to the outcomes to make it more appealing.

All of these pieces are completely different but i like the abstract and layered look they have and plan to show this in my own work.
