CUBE

I used a net to create a mini cube as I plan to present my final outcomes on a cube/dice to emphasis the uncertainty of how your child will look.

Type posters Development

I have added a doubled effect to make the poster more abstract. Im also sticking with a type of greyscale colour scheme with a tint of colour.

The poster backgrounds where textures of an eye and my skin.

Outline

This is another method I have though of using for my final outcomes.

I think this is a good method although I'm not sure it will work well with the other Posters.

On the visit to the Ikon gallery I viewed several exhibits..

Each one amazed me as at first glance I wasn't exactly impressed; after talking to the staff about the exhibits i found there was a deeper meaning behind each concept.

The first exhibit by Susan Collis I personally thought was ridicules until I was told to give each piece a closer look. What seemed to be paint splatter or markings where actually embroidery or gems; the detail and the elusion was really good.

The Second exhibit by Ron Terada emidiatly let me down as I thought there where just a series of canvas with text on. Then a member of staff explained that the text on the canvas was an extract from Goldsteins book who was Teradas inspiration and that he is a real person with problems.

The third exhibit was by Shuruq Harb I was informed by staff about the meaning behind this piece so I went in with an open mind but I personally would not call it art but more of a document piece. The reason for this is Harb collected signatures of people with the name mohammed to show the individuality of humans; but nothing was created by Harb just signatures where bound in a book and projected.

Mitchy Bwoy

I personally liked this exhibit, i liked the use of contours with a spray paint effect along with it. I didn't like the vector images in the background as much but I am a fan of the type work as it is all connected but still quiet legible.

Outcomes

This is an attempt at creating a male sibling. I tried using colour , grey scale and black white to see which looks best.

Type

This is an attempt on an abstract type poster using new alphabet and over laping words such as 'Siblings' and 'genes'. I have also used a picture taken of my skin as the background.

Acetate Posters

These to images are of what the final outcome of Printing images onto acetate should look like when stuck together. They will then be hung one infront of the other making an a bract image as the acetate is transparent where there is no tap or black marks.

Moi

This image was inspired by both Lindsey Nolin and David Hockney. I have used an image of myself and created something slightly abstract.

The other main parts to this movie is obviously the begining and end the introduction to the Designer babies and the new world where natural conception was invalid. Also where an invalid manages to obtain his life time dream which he was told was unachieveable as an invalid with a 90% chance of heart problems and the sad end of the Original Jerome.

- Review

In general the movie is about a world where GM people are seen as superior and naturally conceved people who are called invalid that are only good for jobs such as cleaning. In this world new born babies are givin a heel prick which determines there whole life expectency. In this film an invalid called Vincent had a valid brother who one day he found wasn't actually superior and as strong as he thought. So he left to follow his dream of becoming an astronaut but couldn't because of his pre determined heart condition. Therefore he found a perect valid called Jerome who had been in an accident that left him in a whel chair. Jerome allowed Vincent to take his identity and supplied him with blood, urine, and dead skin cells. The reason for this is people where constantly being tested and personal idenity was proven with blood instead of a passport like now. Over time Vincent/Jerome became one of the best valid in his company. His cover is nearly blow with an eyelash in a murder investigation. Which also uncovers his valid brother who proves once again isnt as superior or as strong as he thinks he is. Which Gives Vincent the courage to show his real idenity. Although it was overlooked and he got to follow his dream and become and astonaut and goin to space. Which left the real Jerome without a perpose therefor he killed himself in an incinerator.
